George Antonov
Mediator and HR specialist
People and their relationships have always been of interest to me. That's why I turned to "Cultural and Social Anthropology", in other words ethnology at the University of Vienna (Bachelor) and then I completed a Master's "Human Resources", with the idea of enriching the approach I developed and finding its application in a business environment.
What is my mediation style?
I take a soft approach to the role of mediator, i.e. I pay more attention to informal and non-verbal communication, trying to understand the parties by asking questions and listening to people's needs. What makes me different is that I am tolerant of the participants, as everyone comes with their own point of view. At the same time, I feel that my role as the mediator is to clarify and communicate the needs and perspectives of the parties so that they are on the same level.
What work experience do I have?
I have been in the business environment relatively recently, but I have participated and am participating in various voluntary organizations with the aim of training young people. I see that the development of the organization depends on the vision, mission and goals of the group. But of course it is not only about what is on paper, but what is actually communicated and implemented. In this sense, certain key people, leaders, define the code of conduct in the organization, through their words, actions and intentions.
Why do I do mediation?
Emotions and memories are often present in relationships between spouses, colleagues, partners, and even relatives. This is normal, but these emotions and memories can limit us in building a proper attitude towards our current and future relationships. That's why I think that giving people a different perspective and help in framing their goals in the right tone would help them achieve what they want.
